Top price of the sale €6250 was paid for a 373kg Charolais bull calf. The owner was John McLoughlin, Midlfield, Swinford, Co. Mayo. His calf a first prize winner in the Charolais Male Calf Under 400 kg Class is by CF52 and he was purchased by Paul and Tom Yorke, Ballymahon, Second highest price of the sale €5,650 was paid for a 404 kg Charolais heifer. The last Charolais show and sale of 2004 (in Carrick on Shannon, on Saturday last) attracted huge numbers and achieved outstanding prices with nearly 90% clearance of bulls and 75% of heifers.
