€10,000 TOPS AT TULLAMORE

Charolais got the year off to a great start with a €10,000 top price at Tullamore on Saturday 28th January.   Furthermore an outstanding average of €3,564 was achieved along with a clearance of 87%.

Leading the trade was 20 months old TAWNY FULL TROTTLE a son of “Clonoulty Andraemon”, out of a home bred “Doonally New” cow.  He had a BLUP muscle score of 136 (top 1% of the breed) and the top 5 star rating for Suckler Beef Value, for the production of weanlings for export, for beef carcases and for docility.  Bred by Ciaran Daly, Tullaghan, Leitrim he was purchased for top price of the sale

2011 proved to be very a successful year for all involved in the Charolais breeding business.   For the pedigree breeder there is a lot to be positive about with the average price for bulls at ALL sales up on the already very good 2010 sale average.
