ROCK SOLID DEMAND CONTINUES (28 Apr 2012)

At the Society’s sixth sale this spring Charolais breeders once again met a rock solid trade driven by commercial men who travelled from as far away as Co. Kerry to purchase a new Charolais bull.   The day’s trading included 10 bulls making €4,000 and over, a clearance of 75% and a very good average price of €3,497 up €400 from the same very good sale last year.

BALLA TOP €4,250 - TWICE (19 Apr 2012)

The Society’s annual Spring show/sale in Balla, Co. Mayo once again attracted a very big crowd, and achieved its best ever average for males of €2,914, up €300 on the same sale last year.  Unfortunately, numbers on the day were small.   Fourteen of the eighteen bulls present were sold with a price range from €1,700 to €4,250

FLYER AT ATHENRY (31 Mar 2012)

Despite the large number of Charolais bulls already sold this spring, demand continues and Charolais breeders met an exception trade at their annual outing to Athenry.   With a price range from €1,800 to €4,650, they achieved an outstanding average of €3,434 (well up on last year’s average of €2,715) and a clearance in excess of 80%.

At their March monthly show/sale in Tullamore Charolais breeders once again met a very solid commercial trade for good muscled bulls.  Trading peaked at €6,700 for the champion ROUNDHILL FEDERAL bred by Timothy & Doreen Corridan, Fedamore, Co. PRICES CONTINUE TO RISE FOR CHAROLAIS (25 Feb 2012)

Charolais breeders who produced a top quality yard of bulls for their Spring Premier met a solid commercial trade at the packed Society’s Spring Premier event in Tullamore.  Seventy per cent sold to average €4,412 (up from the €3,692 average at the 2011 premier) with 17 lots making €5,000 and over. Price range was from €2,400 to €7,300.

€10,000 TOPS AT TULLAMORE (30 Jan 2012)

Charolais got the year off to a great start with a €10,000 top price at Tullamore on Saturday 28th January.   Furthermore an outstanding average of €3,564 was achieved along with a clearance of 87%.

CHAROLAIS CHRISTMAS CRACKER ON FIRE – TOPS €14,200 (05 Dec 2011)

With an attendance estimated in excess of 3,000 at the Bull Showgrounds in Carrick on Shannon on Saturday last the major Charolais Show/Sale of the year broke all recent Charolais records.

AVERAGE PRICE UP BY A MASSIVE €1,000 AT FIRST SALE OF THE AUTUMN (05 Nov 2011)

VERY GOOD TRADE AT FINAL SPRING SALE IN TULLAMORE (20 May 2011)

BALLA AVERAGE UP €300 (08 May 2011)

The Society’s Spring show/sale in Balla, Co. Mayo once again attracted a very big crowd, and achieved an average for males of €2,605, up €300 on the same sale last year.

The solid commercial trade for Charolais bulls continued at the Society’s fifth sale this Spring with 20 bulls making €3,000 and over, a clearance of 75% plus a very good average price of €3,090, up nearly €400 from the same sale last year.

Champion Charolais at Tully Beef Performance Test Station (24 Apr 2011)

This week saw the champion beef bulls selected from each of the main breeds that participated in the latest Tully intake. CHAROLAIS MEET STRONG DEMAND (08 Apr 2011)

Following on from the very good show and sale held in Athenry last spring the 2011 Charolais event proved to be equally successful.
With a price range from €1,800 to €4,000 and an average of €2,715 (slightly up on last year’s average of €2,585) the good solid trade achieved a clearance in excess of 75%.  

Like last Spring the sale attracted a large attendance with a great local trade.  The vast majority of  bulls were purchased by County Galway farmers.

Charolais bulls met a solid commercial trade at the packed Society’s Spring Premier event.  Seventy per cent sold to average €3,692 (up from the 2010 average) with 34 lots making €3,000 and over.
