Last Saturday's final Spring Society Sale in Tulllamore had a top price of €4,400 for SUNNAGHMORE ALI bred by Andy McGovern, Gubbs, Cloone, Co. Leitrim. Born January 2005, by Roundhill Rocky and out of a home bred dam by Erudit. He was purchased by Michael Delaney, Clonard House, Mountrath, Co. Laois to run with his pedigree Charolais herd. SUNNAGHMORE ALI had been a prize winner at many of the Summer shows including the National Livestock Show in Tullamore last August where he took first prize in a very strong class.
Michael Keating, College Hill, Templemore, Co. Tipperary received €3,200 for PRIME ASCOT a son of "Oscar" out of a home bred dam by "Jupiter. Purchaser was John Taffe, Rathescar, Dunleer, Co. Louth.
William Cahill, Mullagh, Kells, Co. Meath received €3,000 for LISLIN AVRIL a son of "Doonally New" out of a home bred dam by "Excellent". Purchaser was Thomas Quigley, Timahoe, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Frank Warburton, Boggagh, Moate, Co. Westmeath received €2,900 for BOYANNAGH ALEX a son of "Trophee" out of "Lyonsdemesne Misty" by "Imperial" Purchaser was Thomas McConnell, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross, Co.Monaghan.
Mattie Kelly, Cloughbrack, Newbridge, Ballinasloe received €2,900 for CLOUGHBRACK ALABAMA a son of "Enfield Newlook" out of a home bred dam by "Enfield Hara Kiri". Purchaser was Patrick Carton, Castlecoote, Roacommon.
Seamus Nolan, Firoda, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny received €2,700 for FIRODA AJAX a son of "Doonally New" out of a home bred dam by "Mogador". Purchaser was Patrick Martin, New Ballagh, Knockcroghery, Roscommon
Average price for bulls was €2,420. |
