PROVES TO BE A MAJOR SUCCESS.

CLEARANCE – ONLY 3 BULLS UNSOLD
The first Society show/sale in Balla, Co.Mayo attracted a huge crowd, a very good average and an almost total clearance.
Top price of the sale €3900 went to Gerard Moran, Cunnagher, Ross, Castlebar for “Cunnagher Ben”.
Born January 2006, he is by “Doonally New” and out of “Windmill Trudy” by “Doonally Olmeto”.
He was purchased by Sean Prendergast, Currymacmanus,
Mayo-Abbey.
Male Championship was won by Seamus Lyons, Erriff, Ballyhaunis with his March born bull “Erriff Boro”. By “Domino” and out of “Blakestown Toria” by “Blakestown Seigneur” he sold for €3,500 to Frank Judge, Mayo- Abbey.
Females
The three heifers on offer all sold with the top price of €2,700 going to John Walsh, Derrygullinane, Knockmore, Ballina for his January 2006 born heifer “Derrygullinane Beatrice”.
By “Dovea Gin Tonic” and out of “Coachford Top” by “Meillard” she was purchased by George White, Carnacon, Ballyglass, Claremorris.
John’s second heifer “Derrygullinane Biance” sold for €2,450 to Dominic Giblin, Aughdeggin, Kilkelly. Born January 2006, she is by “Ijoufflu” and out of “Coachford Tiger” by Epsom”.
The third heifer on offer “Bilberry Annabell” sold for €2,000 to Tony Gaughan, Castlebar. Bred by Michael McMinamon, Kilfea, Islandeady, she is by “Blelack Leopold” and out of “Knockglass Tara” by “Doonally New”.
Top prices included:
€3,100 to Michael Culkeen, Ballyhaunis – son of “Mogador”
€2,900 to Tony Lyons, Roonagh Pt., Westport – son of “Pirate”
€2,900 to Gerard Joyce, Owenwee, Westport – son of “Meillard”
€2,600 to Seamus Lyons, Ballyhaunis – son of “Domino”
€2550 to Denis Coughlan, Esker, Ballindine – son of “Rocky”
