CHAROLAIS HIT €6,000 AT TULLAMORE
WITH EXCELLENT TRADE FOR QUALITY OLDER BULLS

The Charolais Society April (26th) Show and Sale in Tullamore once again achieved very good prices especially for quality older bulls and an overall average of:
€2,582 for bulls;
€2,310 for heifers; and
80% clearance.

The top bull price of the sale €6,000.
The top female price of the sale €3,500.
Price range for bulls was from €1,400 to €6,000.
Price range for heifers was from €1,400 to €3,500.
Champion bull sold for €4,600.
Reserve Champion bull also sold for €4,600.
Reserve Champion female sold for €3,500.

The €6,000 top price of the sale, went to Aidan Farrell, Boyanna, Moate, Co. Westmeath for WILLIAMSTOWN BLAZE born December 2006. By CF52 “Doonally New” and out of a cow by “Kilmore Billy” he was purchased by John Costigan, The Meadows, Clonad, Portlaoise.
Male Championship went to Timothy Corridan, Castlequarter Hse., Fedamore, Co. Limerick for ROUNDHILL BPIRATE. Born September 2006 he is by “Pirate” and out of a home bred dam by “Hermes”. He was purchased for €4,600 by Gordon Cutler, Gortdonaghy, Ballinaleck, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.
Reserve male championship went to John Bambrick, Baurnafea, Castlewarren, Co. Kilkenny for his “Doonally New” (CF52) son, born November 2006. He was purchased
for €4,600 by Padraig Hegarty, Farnagh Hill, Longford.

Championship in the small female section went to Michael Gormley, Carrowkeel, Elphin, Co. Roscommon for CARROWKEEL BEAUTY.
Born March 2006 she is by “Doonally New” and out of a
home bred dam by “Donamon Vincent”. She was unsold having failed to reach her reserve.

Reserve female championship went to Martin Killeen, Ballymakea Beg, Mullagh, Co. Clare for BONNAVELLA BRIANE. By “Doonally New” and out of a cow by “Excellent” she was purchased for €3,500 by Mark Clear, Cush, Clonaslee, Co. Laois.

€3,500 to Richard Hackett, for a son of “Meillard”
€3,450 to Eugene Reynolds, for a son of “Doonally New”
€3,400 to Edward Walsh, for a son of “Dromiskin Pedro”

€3,150 to Patsy McCabe, for a son of “Blakestown Seigneur”
€3,100 to James Ryan for a son of “Padirac”
€3,050 to Martin Killeen, for a son of “Domino”
€3,050 to Pat O’Hara, for a son of “Vera Cruz”
