THE SOCIETY The Society was established in the form of a co-operative Society in 1965 and the Irish Charolais Herd Book was subsequently set up. The Council of the Society (elected by the members of the Society at its Annual General Meeting) is responsible for the - maintenance of the integrity of the Herd. Book - breed promotion - organisation of official shows and sales - co-ordinating the activities of members guiding the future development of the breed.
